Bathtime

Postby captain on Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:44 am

I have always hand washed every vehicle I have ever had. I never run through the auto washes as Im worried something could happen with them. Its a good thing this weekend is sunny as its time to wash the beast again.

I don't take any cars through the auto-wash either I have seen too many bad stories of how they come off the rollers and so on. Not worth it for any of my babies.

I only went through one with my convertible and that it was gunna cave in the canvas...scared the crap outta me and I'm never going to do it again! besides that, I like washing my car alot more detailed than those washers do

For my truck its ok, or my white stang (the paint isn't anything to brag about) but with my maroon stang and other nicer rides I don't even consider it. It can get damaged in those, and as josiah said, not enough detail. The guys in town know I'll tip them if they do extra, but Its still not as good as hand washing. What sucks is I'm like 20 miles from the nearest hand wash joint.

I prefer to hand wash my babies. It may take a lot of time especially if I have to clean the interior as well but it can be fun and the kids usually help out so it becomes a family time thing

There will be no bathtime today for any cars of mine it seems. Its wet and overcast out just my luck too, my one really needs a good bath. And a note here I also don't like the washouts since we have some here that during winter will close the doors on both sides and I always think I will get locked inside the darn thing.

No auto-washes for me either. Mine was a convertible, so I was always hesitant because of the pressure on the top especially, but there's something about handwashing and waxing that is just so much more fun anyway.

Hand wash - with Zaino.

I've never taken a vehicle to a place like Shiner's where it's kinda half auto half hand, but with the Mach especially, too many rock chips - i'd be afraid the paint would start to peel. As for the gas station drive thru wash - I used to take the Jeep thru and it always came out looking like I half *ss washed it - so complete waste of money IMO. It doesn't take that long to do it by hand...unless it's show weekend

I have always hand washed the vehicles I loved...I just like how you can feel every sweet curve of the design..makes me feel more one with the vehicle...then after it's clean and dry I always take it for a nice back country drive and thrash on it a little bit.
It's just another slow pony, I swear!

I don't take nice cars through the machine, but it's OK for day to day cars. Car washes are good for joking around in - sneaking the passenger window open an inch so your passenger gets splattered, or farting at a moment when they really can't open the windows for air
