Test and Tune is open to everyone, that is the best time to go if it's your first time. The other event that you are talking about is not a Mustang event.

haha woodburn just happens to be the home strip for mustangsocial! If you ever want me to head down there, lemme know. If I get my red stang together in time, I'll be down there next month or so.

Test and tune is exactly that - people just line up in the staging lanes, first come, first serve. There are no points awarded or anything like that, but you can mess with your car and see what it will do. You get timeslips for everything.

The import and sport compact challenge is a division basically created by Les Schwab for ricers. Mustangs are not allowed in this series. They must be an import vehicle, with one exception, they can be domestic labeled but import manufacturer, for instance a ford probe would be allowed in this series, because it's a ford, but it is manufactured by mazda.

Your best bet is sportsman class, and the best racing for guys like us is friday nights. Thats when the street guys are out, and there are grudge matches and other fun that is pretty sweet. You can race saturday and sunday too, but it sucks being put against a pro street nova, and watching him fly by. But, in reality it is a bracket series, so its less about speed and more about consistency.

Feel free to ask anything, I've been doing this for years, and Woodburn is my home track, it's a great place run by great people.
