MUSTANGS & TICKETS

Postby mtrent on Mon Apr 21, 2008 1:35 pm

Have you ever noticed that certain colors of mustangs are noticed more by our neighborhood police force than other colors? I had a canary yellow 2002 hard top and could be sitting in a traffic jam at a dead stop and get pulled over for speeding! My husband at the time, who drove like he was over ninety and in need of jumper cables to get him jump started again even got two tickets. The funny thing was he had never gotten a ticket before in his life and at the time he was forty. What is the deal. We ended up having to trade it in on something more reasonable, but I sure do miss it. Does anyone else notice this? :o

Yep, but not just with Mustangs. Any sports call that has an "out there" color is going to get that reaction and sometimes any car in general can call extra attention with colors like bright red.

I have been more then lucky alot of times when it comes to speeding, I really haven't been hassled alot in any color mustang. I did get a nasty ticket by the tennessee state troopers a week before deploying though..I was driving like a jack *ss and got what I deserved.. 87 in a 55 while passing in a double yellow 505$ and my insurance went up 60$ a month...ouch!!!

If you think YELLOW is bad ..try BRIGHT ORANGE with FLAMES  My car is a DD and I can't tell you how many times a week I get my *ss ridden by the Popo... I have only gotten one speeding ticket in this car (which should've been an improper acceleration ticket but anyways ) I come from a family of LEOs and I am not a cop hater by any means but there are a few in my area that like to get behind me and follow me around town just to mess with me (I hate that shiat) like they don't have anything better to do right

Hey Chase ...How does the insurance thing work while you guys are deployed? I mean do they cut you guys a price break cause they know you are away and wont be out driving your cars? I always wondered how that worked and BTW ...Im still waiting for the next Blog chapter in the life and times of Mr Danger

there have certainly been a few times where I got very lucky when it came to speeding. like 115 i n a 55 and slowed down just as i rounded a corner and the fuzz was sitting right there, luckily i was just hitting 65 and all he did was flash his lights at me...boy was i glad i slowed down...my car was red with a tan top and didn't really notice cops bothering me to much but my brothers white 93 trans am is like a magnet in a bucket full of nails...if there are cops around they are following us. :ugeek:

In most cases, you just call them up and explaint hat you are deploying and the car will be stored, they will take the milage on your car and then drop your coverage to next to nothing. so it's very cheap..in my case no so much I still owe on both my cars and my insurance company said there was nothing they could do that full coverage had to be maintained on both at all times..so i am sucking...oh well

My azure blue mach 1 is - evidently - invisible. Both to police (who I didn't see and have flown right by WELL over the speed limit) and everyone else. I get cut off more in this car than any other vehicle i've driven - and I *always* have my headlights on, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I've called the local school board about the same freakin' school bus that pulls out in front of me a few times a month - from a dead stop on a road with a 45mph speed limit. I've d@mn near hit it twice because I couldn't stand on the brakes any harder  I think the bus driver does it now just to p*ss me off. #1 I don't know why the bus is even there because it's an industrial area - the train station is there, some body shops, a place that sells rock (pebbles, gravel, etc) and Rinker - so of course there's gravel and sand and crap in the road and we all know the back end of a mustang will slide with NO help from stuff in the road so throw some gravel or sand in there and ....anywho that's another rant.

Azure blue is not really a "blending in" color...but no one sees that car *sigh* - which isn't a bad thing when it comes to my lead foot.
