my grandpa...the race legend

Postby josiahes on Thu Jul 03, 2008 3:00 pm

Apparently my gramps has been holding out on me...I mean I knew he was a mechanic and worked on airplanes during ww2 but I didn't know he raced! when I asked if he wanted to go watch me drag he told me a story about his old 55 fairlane that he built an engine for and put a positrack in and got it to run the quarter at 121...121!!! that's a butt-hauling time for a '55 with a self built engine! what a beast...what a beast...

Maybe this is the reason why you yourself are such a speed demon. You got it from your grandfather.

That is bad *ss man! Hopefully he will come out one night and watch you race. I bet that was a pretty cool story to hear, I know how much I enjoy hearing my step dads street racing stories from the 60's.
It's just another slow pony, I swear!

I've got a couple of land speed record holders in my ancestry. They're on my Mum's side, but I reckon the gene was recessive in her case!
