The goal and vision of Mustang Social

Postby Jeremy on Thu Mar 13, 2008 11:47 pm

I started this site with a vision, and I'm going to work my *ss off to achieve it. It's very simple, but I don't see it happening on the net right now.

I want to create a site where mustang fans from all around the world can meet. I want it to be a laid back and "chill" place for people to meet up, and chat about their hobby. I want to create a really relaxed and cool community. If you're a dick, you won't be tolerated here. We want a cool place to hang out and talk. I want to give mustang clubs a chance to promote themselves for free, and guys from performance shops to pimp their shop on the boards.

I want to create a forum where people can meet up, and say what they want. Think flowmasters suck? You can say it here. Want to tell a dirty joke? That's ok too. Want to promote your club/shop/event? That's cool.

Many mustang and musclecar communities are simply too uptight. They scold shop owners, saying they need to buy ads. They lock threads where club owners promote their club or events. They crack down on anyone that talks smack about their advertisers. They get angry because someone said the word "shiat". Not here.

This will be a different kind of mustang community. And soon, we may be the biggest and best. But that's my goal.

Feel free to share your thoughts here.

Good vision Jeremy. Refreshing to be somewhere where you don't have to worry about being shot down in flames by the mods every two minutes. Best of luck with it. I'm looking forward to seeing it grow.

Uptight is one word you could use, I have a couple choice others though. The first Mustang site I went to I ended up being ban for telling a member that I thought "she" was too much of a kiss up. See what happens when you pick on the ladies? I was being honest and not rude when I told her too. How sad.

Hope this places runs a ton smoother and happy to have found it. People agitate me when I tell them I like certain cars, makes me want to slap them a good one. ;)

Yeah I've been around a lot of boards and seen some of what goes wrong, and I'm going to try not to make the same mistakes here.
