"The Mustang Wave"

Postby red91fox on Wed Apr 09, 2008 4:48 pm

The one thing that I love about owning a mustang is that you automatically become friends with anyone else who owns or has ever owned a mustang. I'm not sure if this only happens in my area or not, but whenever I see someone driving a mustang we always give each other a good wave or point haha. I love that. Its like we are all just one big family. And at the car shows, the ALWAYS come to you and say "hey Ive got a spot right next to me"

LOVE IT haha

I definitely notice this in my area. In the Northwest around Portland, Oregon there is a pretty good mustang scene, and a lot of people know each other, so favors are passed around here and there. As far as driving pretty much every time I see someone in a 5.0 fox, we wave, and more than once I've met people at the pizza joint or around town who have stangs. At car shows and the drag strip, its the same thing, there is a definite bond among the mustang guys. It's pretty awesome.

both my brother and dad own motorcycles and when ever you pass someone else on a motorcyclethey always put there hand down by the engine in kinda of a 2 fingered salute...I was thinking mustang owners need soething cool like that too...so lately I've been flipping my fogs on and off whenever I see a mustang coming towards me and try to give a "hey, your cool, I'm cool too" wave...lately not a whole lot of success tho, seems like everyone around the albany area thinks you're trying to get them to race or the people driving the stangs are grandmas and grandpas

Absolutely a "stang thang" - any mustang really. I'm with you...I love it! Nothin' quite like a friendly wave or a little rev at the light ;)

Always a good time when you have a "non-stang" person with you who just doesn't get it... LOL

I totally notice this in my area too. If I'm outside washing my car and someone who has a mustang dries by they will always honk and wave :)

There's immediately something to talk about with another Mustang owner and a familiarity about anyone who has one. It's definitely not just your area as I see it around here, too.
