what do you do when...

Postby DriveIt on Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:41 am

There are funny and sad things about owning a car, and I was wondering what you do when your baby sister pees in the backseat? What do you do when your pet leaves you a "souvenir"? How long does it take you to get the smell out?

If my little sister peed in my car she's be walking next time!!

My cat peed all over the back seat of the Jaguar I took her to the vet in once. I abandoned the cage by the car whilst I went tearing inside to grab towels!! Thankfully it was leather not upholstery, and I caught it before it soaked through.

The first thing you do being religious or not is pray that it doesnt seep in the fabric, then get anything handy you can do take care of it. I have seen some people take a shirt off their back with a drink that had tipped over before. I don't allow smoke, drinks, food or messes (including shoes) in my car.

I don't have the heart to tell my baby sister that she can't ride with me, she loves our drives together :) I got lucky in the fact that most of it got on the baby seat lol

Lmao! Awww, you poor thing. If you don't know how to get it thoroughly cleaned yourself, please take it to a professional cleaner (if you have someone who details your car, try them first). The longer you wait, the longer it'll really seep into those fibers, so get it all out now.

Make em both wear diapers!!

I had a french mastiff that I would have to fight for the drivers seat every time I got out of the car. What sucked the most is he weighed almost as much as me!!! It wasnt easy gettin him into the passenger seat.

Now the dogs do not get in the car if it's even half decent. Getting dog hair off upholstery is impossible. Thankfully they've never peed in one of my vehicles though.

If it is leather you are a little luckier. Take Windex and wipe up your new foreign deposits, then just use Armorall to get the smell out.

Now if it is cloth, you can use Resolve Foam to get up the Pee and if it is poop, then gently remove what you can without rubbing it in, then use the Resolve Foam. Next use Febreeze to remove the smell or even Renuzit.
