Deadstick

I let someone who is insured borrow my car and she managed to break the clutch so it needs replaced now. Can someone tell me that this either is not that hard to do as a newbie like me can manage on my own or is it better to pay someone to do it?

if its a straight replacement of the clutch, such as she burned it out or, well i'm not sure how else you know it was the clutch, than yeah, replacing it isn't that hard, long as you have basic knowledge of the engine and tranny. However, as it seems you've never done it before I would not suggest doing it on your own for the first time, having someone there who knows what they are doing is invaluable.

I got the car back and was told it is "making funny sounds when I change gears". I drove it around the block and now the clutch is stuck after being parking overnight and will not shift. I am thinking it was thrown out or grinded real hard to make something like that happen. A little new to car repair work for anything this serious so yes help will be needed here. :)

When I did the clutch on my car, I figured it was simple enough...Boy, was I wrong, simple in theory, yes, simple in action...not so much...deffinately get someone who knows what they"re doing to help you at very least.
