Holley Carb Help

Postby shaw289 on Sun Jun 29, 2008 7:25 pm

I just put a new Holley 600 cfm carb on my 289 and it idles way to fast... the idle is adjusted as far out as it can go but it still loads up on a dead stop and almost floods out. The engine was also timed with a timing light. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to slow the idle down?

not to insult your intelligence, but are you sure you adjusted the idle and not the mixture screw? some hollys have 4 corner idle settings, not the screw that goes to the cable
