Ya, I'm wicked careful now, specially when I shot my friends 50 cal snier rifle...I just kept seeing the scope nailing me in the face and cracking my skull everytime I tucked in...

Can't you come up with a more glamorous story that doesn't make you the joke? Maybe you were trying to rescue a maiden on a run away horse or something. My ex once told people he'd been in a fight when he actually broke his ribs vacuuming the stairs. It would have helped his case if he'd warned me he was going to lie first as I gave him away by wetting myself laughing.
